Sweltering Celt

The other day, we actually got to have the chance to TALK to our new neighbors. They’re fabulously interesting people, and in fact the husband is sitting in my living room right now playing video games.

They’ve got two dogs, which were actually the icebreaker for everyone. Bug saw them and headed straight for the furry things, giggling and playing. So we all sat around the front lawn and talked for a while so Bug could play. Those are two cute dogs, a Basset Hound and a white fluffy dog that’s groomed just like a Scottish Terrier.

I’m feeling really lucky today with this, as we all sat outside today talking again, and this is the first set of neighbors we’ve had in this house that we’ve gotten a chance to really get to know. Lately it’s seemed that everyone has been either unfriendly or asocial.

So because of the neighbor surprise, I’ve been in a good mood today. We’ve also gotten a lot of cleaning done, and I cooked up a storm for dessert tonight. His wife was going to come over but apparently she works with websites and whatnot as well and is working tonight. Very cool. She’s a redhead, like me, but she’s from Germany. They met while he was stationed there. She’s a sweetheart and they’re really in love. It’s refreshing lately with all the people we’ve been seeing around base getting divorces.

I’ll cut short the rambling because I have a few reviews to write and some more work to do on the website. I’m sure it’ll be pretty slow around here for a few days, which should be nice to give me a little extra room to settle in…
